ABOUT ME
“Simply a physio fed up with the status quo”.
That sums it up really. I have worked as part of the NHS, private and charitable organisations since 2010. I have been lucky enough to work across the UK and have also built up a professional network from around the world.
My older brother Jonathan had Downs Syndrome and so Learning Disabilities was something for me that just was. It wasn’t accompanied by fanfare. Being around and playing with other kids who had learning disabilities was what I knew.
I am the co-author of the Movement for Movement – Intellectual Disabilities slideset which was released to the Council of Deans and internationally for undergraduate healthcare students.
I am a Specialist Visiting Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University and Coventry University. My focus whilst working with individuals is also to improve knowledge of healthcare practitioners and raise standards of healthcare for people with learning disabilities. This is the reason for this website.
